Dr. Wilton Schmidt Cardozo has been a coloproctologist in Guarulhos since 1996. He holds a specialist degree in Coloproctology from the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology, in Gastroenterology from the Brazilian Federation of Gastroenterology and digestive surgery by the CBCD (Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery).
He is a physician of the Coloproctology Department of Padre Bento Hospital Complex and a coloproctologist at Carlos Chagas Hospital in Guarulhos. He is the regional director of the Brazilian Association of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease (ABCD) and one of the founders of the Multidisciplinary Assistance Group on Ostomy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (GAMEDII) of Padre Bento Hospital Complex of Guarulhos.
Dr. Wilton Cardozo is a surgeon specializing in diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. He has extensive clinical and surgical experience in dealing with colorectal cancer and with complex inflammatory bowel disease, especially with severe Crohn's disease.
His experience includes performing colonoscopy and rectosigmoidoscopy exams.
In 2009 he took a postgraduate course at the prestigious St Mark's Hospital in London, England, a world reference in the treatment of colon and rectum diseases.
In 2011 and 2015, he edited and launched with Dr. Carlos Walter Sobrado and several collaborators, the book "Inflammatory bowel disease". In 2016, the book was translated into English and released in Europe and Asia.
He participated in several national and international congresses for professional updating in his specialty.
He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology, the Brazilian Federation of Gastroenterology, the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery, the Brazilian Study Group of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation.
